Summer in Fenelon Falls, ON

Fenelon Falls has population of only about 2,500 people, but in summer times the population swells due to tourist and cottage traffic.

Town was orignally called Cameron Falls, and was renamed after Francois de Salignac de La Monthe-Fenelon, who established a mission in Bay of Quinte and travelled the Trent-Severn Waterway ministering to his flocks along the way.

Water street underpass, as ships are getting through the lock. Being a part of a very expensive at the time Trent-Severn Waterway proposed in 1830, Fenelon Falls lock construction was underway in 1883 by showering rocks on the village using dynamite.

Today it's a tourist attraction, taking about 20 minutes for a boat to pass through the lock:
